SGEM World Science (SWS) Society is a scholarly community that has the ideal purpose of creating a unique international multidisciplinary platform for scientific and artistic exchange. By boosting the interdisciplinary discourse, we hope to extend our understanding of the essence of Nature, beyond its current limits. Our aims are to gather together one the most distinguished scientists and researches under one roof, to bring about a debate concerning the possible solutions for the pressing problems of the modern world and consequently to produce quality peer-reviewed e-journals and papers. Our scope comprise Earth & Planetary Sciences as well as Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts. We believe that scientists and artists could unite in order to face the environmental issues and complexity of today’s global society. Last but not the least key part of our activities is to encourage and support young talents in various disciplines, for they are our future.

Join us and let’s discover together!

WHAT WE DO

Conferences

Annually, we organize three conferences, with three Extended Scientific Sessions for the main fields that comprise our scope – Earth & Planetary Sciences (since 2001) and Social Sciences, Humanities & Arts (since 2013). The events take place in 3 European countries - Austria, Italy and Bulgaria. The overall goal of our conferences and sessions is to bring together eminent scientists, researchers and artists, to involve various educational, business, non-profit and political institutions in a large-scale conversation in order to initiate a new way of worldwide scientific co-operation and facilitate effectiveness against the raising ecological and social problems.

e-Journals

We issue two quarterly multidisciplinary peer-reviewed academic journals – SWS Journal of Earth & Planetary Sciences and SWS Journal of Social Sciences, Humanities & Arts. The publications are with open access and aim to contribute to scientific and humanitarian knowledge and encourage sharing between researchers. The main goals of our journals are to publish quality original articles and to share the latest discoveries with the rest of the scientific and artistic world.

e-Libraries

Everyone – scientist, researchers, students, artists etc. can access and exploit our e-Libraries in the two main areas – Earth & Planetary Sciences (EPS) and Social Sciences, Humanities & Arts (SSHA). In the EPS field, for 19 years we have published and collected more than 15 000 peer reviewed papers by more than 40,000 authors. Started in 2014, today our SSHA e-Library contains more than 8000 publications by around 15,000 authors. Feel free to explore and share this multidisciplinary scientific treasure.

Youth Support

SWS Society tries to encourage young artists and scientist to demonstrate and improve their works. We annually organize Art contest and Live Art Sessions, where young talents could perform. Undergraduates and post-graduates are being motivated and supported for their scientific publications by our experienced scholars. We also promote Elsevier e-Academy as a way to access and exploit a great and free source of academic webinars and materials in order to take a step forward into your starting scientific career.

OUR VISION

We are living in the ages of extreme specialization and differentiation of knowledge. Although, this scientific progress created methods and instruments beyond any expectations, researchers from different fields need, more than ever, to share their wisdom on a common language. Therefore, our platform put an accent on the pivotal role played by multidisciplinary studies as Earth & Planetary Sciences and Social Sciences, Humanities & Art. We are providing a room for international discourse, where scientists and artists could cooperate in order to face the environmental problems and complexity of today’s global society. For together we stand stronger!

OUR MISSION

By emphasizing the multidisciplinary approaches, we can take a step forward in solving the environmental and social problems on a local, regional and global scale. That is why SWS Society aims at presenting opportunities for future cooperation between scientists and researchers from various fields of science. By providing a platform for multidisciplinary knowledge and sharing of experience in the field of Earth & Planetary Sciences as well as in the field of and Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts, we try to incorporate and strengthen the capacity of scientists and researchers for facing the challenges of our time.

OUR HISTORY

In 2001, we established the International Scientific Conference - Surveying, Geology, Environment, and Management (SGEM). Twelve years later in 2013, we extended our scope by organizing for the first time an additional conference covering the topics of Social Sciences and Art (SSA). In 2016, with the support of many Universities, Academies of Sciences, Research centers and Institutions, SGEM WORLD SCIENCE (SWS) Society was officially established as publisher and International Organization of Scientists and Researchers in the two main scientific fields – Earth & Planetary Sciences (EPS) and Social Sciences, Humanities & Art (SSHA). In 2020, we introduce a third conference by dividing Social Sciences and Art conferences into two separate branches – Social Sciences and Arts & Humanities, but still keeping them working in synergy with each another. We are working hard with our partnering Universities and researchers to introduce more strong scientific criteria, to extend the visibility of authors and articles and to help young talents in science and art. All of this in the pursuit of one goal – to establish a modern scientific society, without analogue in the international scientific world.
