A YouTube challenge, two bloggers (one is an ex NASA engineer), a conservation organization and worldwide people's support... The result? More than 7 million trees been around the globe in a year! And millions more to come!... 

Marc Rober (who worked seven years for NASA, now a world famous YouTuber), together with another YouTube star, Mr.Beast (Jimmy Donaldson), and the Arbor Day Foundation started the one-of-a-kind project #TeamTrees exactly a year ago.  The goal is: 20 million trees planted worldwide by 2020! 365 days later 7.1 millions are already planted!  14 millions planned for 2021!

Sustainable Architecture for Sustainable Living... and Shopping

The world-known Swedish furniture company IKEA is building a revolutionary new store in Vienna, Austria. The main focus is sustainability and green design. The seven-story building (of 21 600 sq.m2) will have green facades, green roof-space and will have no car parking. And most important - it will have 160 trees planted  in the facades and on the roof. The goal is to help purifying the air in the neighborhood and also lowering the temperature in the building with at least 2 degrees Celsius. The store is expected to open its doors in 2021.

Solar energy is the key to sustainable future! This is the  main inference of the annual World Energy Outlook (WEO-2020), published by the International Energy Agency on the 13th of October 2020. The influential study focuses on the period of the next 10 years, exploring different pathways out of the crisis. It offers four different scenarios determined by the different level up to which the international energy and climate policies will change. "Renewables take starring roles in all our scenarios, with solar center stage. Solar photovoltaics (PV) is now consistently cheaper than new coal- or gas-fired power plants in most countries, and solar projects now offer some of the lowest cost electricity ever seen", the document says...

"Extinction. The Facts" is the new documentary by sir David Attenborough produced by BBC. It shows the shocking truth about the way mankind treats wild animal life, or, let's say it straight - the way we invade it, mess with it and destroy it. The film points out the inevitable result from all this - biodiversity loss, climate change, and... pandemics! The documentary predicts that if we don't change the course of our behavior, the pandemics will happen more often and may be even more devastating. Yet, it is all in our hands! In the hands in every one of us!
