Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU research and innovation programme with nearly €80 billion of funding. The programme and all connected projects are available over 7 years (2014 to 2020)

The third EU Health Programme with a budget of € 449.4 million is the main European Commission instrument to implement the EU health strategy.

The LIFE programme is the EU’s financial instrument supporting environmental, nature conservation and climate action projects throughout the EU. Since 1992, LIFE has co-financed more than 4500 projects. For the 2014-2020 funding period, LIFE will contribute approximately €3.4 billion to the protection of the environment and climate.

The Research Fund for Coal and Steel supports research projects in coal and steel sectors. Every year around €55 million (€47.7 million for 2015) is made available to universities, research centres and private companies to fund projects.
