ABSTRACT
Digital terrain modeling is a process to obtain desirable models of the land surface. Such models have found wide applications for planners, landscape architects, civil engineers, as well as other experts in various earth sciences. Due to the fact that digital terrain modeling has been use to various fields of activities, the models have found wide applications, in various disciplines such as mapping, remote sensing, hydrology, land reclamation and improvements, civil engineering, mining engineering, geology, military engineering, land planning, geomorphology and communications. Therefore, digital terrain modeling has become a discipline receiving increasing attention. One of the main problems in realization of digital terrain modeling is to obtain terrain data with better accuracy. In this sense, the paper shows possibilities for land data acquisition and their use in software suitable for making digital terrain models.
